The Bears will have a tough decision to face next offseason with Kyle Fuller, who could end up being a cap casualty as they will be tight on money. If the Bears feel comfortable with their cornerback group of Jaylon Johnson, Artie Burns, Buster Skrine, Kevin Toliver, Kindle Vildor, and Duke Shelley, then they might be willing to let Fuller go.

Fuller struggled his first couple years with the team, before having a breakout year in 2017. The Bears brought him back, and he transformed into the number one corner the Bears imagined him to be. He is in his prime and heading towards the later part of his prime.  His cap hit is rather large, and the Bears could be forced to move him to save on money.

Sending him to New York for Adams would be a wise way to accrue value for him. The Jets would be getting a top cornerback, which would fill a big hole on their team. Also, they would receive a first-round pick in the draft, which is of great value to a team looking for young controllable talent.

Trading Fuller might be a tough pill to swallow, but it might be the best way to capitalize on his value. The Bears could then use that space to pay Adams. Basically, the Bears would be losing a franchise corner who is getting older while bringing in a young stud at safety. The Bears would also give up a first-round pick, but at least it is not multiple picks. Plus, the Bears would make this trade on the expectation they would be a contender with a late first rather than a top pick.
