Foles’ postseason experience

There is one thing that Nick Foles had over all three of those quarterbacks: a ring. That’s all that matters.

No, Foles didn’t get carried to the Super Bowl and happen to stumble upon it like some quarterbacks have before. Foles stepped up. He took the reigns of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2017 playoffs and looked unstoppable.

Foles stood toe-to-toe with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots and absolutely tore them to shreds. In the 2017 playoff run, Foles completed 72.6% of his passes for 971 yards and six touchdowns with only one interception. He averaged 323.7 yards per game and posted a passer rating of 115.7.

Specifically in that Super Bowl, he completed 65% of his passes for 373 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He also caught the Philly special.

Will that magic ever happen again? Who knows, but nobody else has ever shown that before. Newton was the closest, but he was afraid of falling on a fumble to potentially save his ring. Dalton never even won a playoff game. Winston, Ha!

Final Thoughts:

Newton wasn’t the right fit. Neither was Dalton or Winston. Foles knows the offense, has the experience and is the perfect amount of competition for Trubisky. All in all, we won’t know what the best move was until years from now as this is all speculation.
