Chicago Bears Quarterback Battles: Mitchell Trubisky versus Baker Mayfield

The Mitchell Trubisky hatred is real amongst Chicago Bears fans and many in the national media. How bad is he though? We will compare him to other quarterbacks around the league.

The Chicago Bears are in one heck of a quarterback situation. These breakdowns have nothing to do with a comparison of Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles — well at least not yet. No, instead this is more in response to the many fans on social media who claim Trubisky is one of, if not the worst quarterback in the NFL. In fact, specific names were mentioned and debated.

When it comes to Trubisky, trying to defend him is not easy. Especially after the season he had in 2019. Many are probably questioning why we are even looking at comparisons to other quarterbacks when Trubisky could be out of a job after this season. The thing is, it will either prove or disprove that Trubisky deserves to start in the NFL whether that is with the Chicago Bears in the future or not.

We recently broke down Trubisky compared to Sam Darnold. Next up in the quarterback battle is Trubisky versus Baker Mayfield. Everyone wanted to anoint Mayfield as the next great quarterback to breakout in 2019. In the fantasy community, many believed he would be in the top three for fantasy points by season’s end. Well, that did not happen even with Odell Beckham, Jr. on the roster.
