Who are the top 75 players on the Chicago Bears 2020 roster?

As we count down to the start of the NFL season, we have been counting down the Chicago Bears top players on the roster. So far, we have looked at more of the back end of the roster players, going from 90-76. Today, we will look at players 75-71.

75. Darion Clark, TE

Darion Clark is a name that may stick around, but when we are looking solely at the 2020 NFL season, there is a high chance that he is not making plays for the Chicago Bears. Clark is one of the many tight ends the team currently has, but maybe the biggest boom-bust candidate. Clark is a former basketball player and has that above the rim mentality.

Clark has bounced around the NFL for two seasons, and the odds are more likely that he is just a camp body, more than an eventual Jimmy Graham replacement. However, the fact that the upside is there will make you take notice. Even if that means spending at least one year on the practice squad.

74. Napoleon Maxwell, RB

Napoleon Maxwell is a UDFA from Florida International. Injuries have been the big detriment in his career, as he missed both 2015 and 2016 with season-ending surgeries. He came back but has never carried a full workload.

In most scenarios, Maxwell may have been further down the list, however, the Bears depth chart at running back is razor-thin. A poor summer out of Ryan Nall is all that it takes for Maxwell to move up 20 spots.

73. Artavis Pierce, RB

Pierce will come in and compete with Maxwell to pressure Ryan Nall. Pierce is an interesting case because he was on the same Oregon State team as Nall back in the day. However, Nall out produced Pierce in college, and Pierce did not show more when Nall left. He is comfortably behind Nall, but due to a weak depth chart, he moves into the low 70s on our list.

72. Trevor Davis, WR

Trevor Davis has NFL experience with four starts in four NFL seasons. However, he is so far down the list because he has played for three teams in four seasons. Heck, he played for three teams last season. Davis played nine games for the Raiders, two for the Packers, and three for Miami.

His experience, speed, and special teams ability show that he is a safety blanket for Ted Ginn and Darnell Mooney. However, he is firmly behind the veteran Ginn and the rookie Mooney who are competing for one role as it is.

71. Patrick Scales, LS

It is always hard to rank players like Patrick Scales. On one hand, there is no competition for him, and he will make the 53-man roster, barring injury. On the other, even if Scales does get injured, the Bears could find a long snapper, and most fans would not know the difference. There is a small chance the long snapper becomes an issue, but it is a generally replaceable spot that does not take much work to find. Flyers who may get cut have more value right now.
