Chicago Bears Offseason Stock Watch: Kevin Toliver

Which way is the stock trending on Chicago Bears cornerback Kevin Toliver?
Entering his third NFL season, Kevin Toliver will have a chance to start for the Chicago Bears. Are the odds in his favor? Unlikely. However, over the past two seasons, the question has not been whether he can start. The question was whether or not he can make the roster.
For two straight years, he found a way to work himself onto the roster. In both seasons, he got on the field sparingly. Towards the end of last year, Prince Amukamara was out for the season and the Bears got a long look at Toliver. He fared well considering his experience level.
Now, in year three, he may take a step forward. With Amukamara gone, he will have every chance to start across from Kyle Fuller.
Artie Burns was signed, but Toliver has been better than him, and after getting benched in Pittsburgh, the two have played a similar number stats over the past two years. Jaylon Johnson was drafted in round two and has every chance to beat Toliver. However, being a rookie in a year with an abbreviated offseason is going to make it tough to start in Week One. Could Toliver have an advantage? Kindle Vildor was drafted as well, but once again Toliver could very easily have an advantage.

When you break it down, Toliver is still trending up. He is more likely to make the roster today than he was last year and is much more likely to start. He has taken steps forward both years, and nothing is stopping him from a year three breakout.
