If there is any other position that fans seem to dislike more than Mitchell Trubisky, it is the offensive line. Ryan Pace extended Bobby Massie to a four-year extension worth just north of $30 million dollars prior to the 2019 season. Although the move looked okay at the time, Massie did not live up to that contract. Injuries caught up to him, but that cannot be an excuse. He did not look good before finding himself on the sideline.

If Massie were to opt out in 2020 and the Chicago Bears are allowed to use his salary cap  in some way to add another lineman, I think many fans would be jumping up and down for joy. There are not many great right tackles in free agency, but there are a few who could be considered upgrades. Cordy Glenn could be one option or maybe fans just want to see Jason Spriggs or Alex Bars get a shot. Either way, most fans believe that Massie needs to go and would be happy to see him skip.

Now, the grass is not always greener though. As I stated, Glenn could be an option if they are allowed to shuffle around cap space for those who opt out. He has familiarity with offensive coordinator Bill Lazor as he played under Lazor with the Cincinnati Bengals. Glenn allowed four sacks last year and did not commit any penalties. Most other tackle options would not be considered an upgrade unless they convinced Kelvin Beachum to play right tackle opposed to left.
