Chicago Bears: Bargain free agents who could still be upgrades for 2020
The Chicago Bears could use Cordy Glenn
Whether Cordy Glenn would make the final roster or not is really not important. That is funny to read I am sure, but bringing him in would be more about the competition than depth necessarily. To address the offensive line, the Bears brought in Germain Ifedi to replace Rashaad Coward and Jason Spriggs to backup Charles Leno and Bobby Massie.
Outside of that, the team drafted two seventh-round picks as the hope for the future. Alex Bars is also on the roster and even though I still want to see him get a chance to succeed, I would not bet the farm on it working out.
This is where Glenn comes in. Glenn would be a very inexpensive option at this point. The team could bring him in on a one-year deal with incentives to make more if he plays well. Glenn could be the insurance policy needed to either help push Bars or one of the rookies.
Do not get me wrong, Glenn is not going to be the answer that helps push the Chicago Bears over the edge, but he could be an answer to help keep them from falling off the edge if the original plan does not work out.
