Is the Chicago Bears quarterback actually bad?

Lastly, before you say, “Cam, that isn’t how the NFL is played today,” I will ask you why not? I feel quarterbacks like Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, and more ruined the fan’s perspective on how to win a game.

The argument of who the best quarterback ever to play offers a simple answer to my mind. It is Tom Brady. Many will argue Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, and Drew Brees. Again the ultimate goal for each NFL season is to win. At the end of the day, that is all that matters. Yes, Manning could dissect defenses up very well. Rodgers was the ultimate weapon that could hurt you with his arm and his legs.

Drew Brees could throw some passes that would amaze a newborn baby. Tom Brady knew when to change the play to a run, pass, screen at all times based on each game. Sure his former coach is terrific at his job. That all interconnects.

There are times when a quarterback leads correctly. Brady would be like, man, my defense is just worn out. We need to create a long drive to help them out. Or he would strike with three passes for a touchdown. That, to me, is being the best quarterback. Mitch Trubisky already has the tools, he just needs to stop trying to be Brees and focus on trying to be more like Brady (never will be, I know this, but Alex Smith is a solid bar to aim for at this point).

Trubisky just needs to help the Chicago Bears offense run smoothly. If he needs to change plays like Jim McMahon and Brett Favre did, then so be it. If he needs to use his runningback like Troy Aikman did, fine. The Chicago Bears offense doesn’t need to be unique. The Chicago Bears defense already is.

If Trubisy can fix either his mechanics, post-snap reads, or pre-snap reads and play as he did in 2018… watch out, because this team will be a Super Bowl contender again. Mind you; I am utterly content with both quarterbacks. After all, Nick Foles is 31. I have shared a lot on what changes for quarterbacks at the age of 30.
