3. Eddie Jackson

Last Year: 4

Fresh off of being paid as the top safety in the game, Eddie Jackson moves up to the third-best player on the Bears roster. Sure, you can point to his stats taking a hit last season, as he changed roles bit to fit Haha Clinton-Dix.

However, that is in part why his play in 2020 is so important. With Tashaun Gipson coming in, this is the most unfamiliar running mate that Jackson has had. He changed roles for Clinton-Dix but did so because he was close personally and knew Clinton-Dix on the field so well.

That was a seamless transition from the player he started the majority of his career next to. However, now, he has a new running mate in Gipson. The Bears are going to continue to use him in a versatile manner, and all that means is more weight on his shoulders.

However, when you are considered a top-five player on the roster, that is the task that you need to complete. If Eddie Jackson can get back to his 2018 form, the Bears will have one of the best defenses in the NFL. However, if he struggles to transition, the defense will step back, and a team reliant on that unit will be in trouble.
