Chicago Bears Defensive Coordinator Chuck Pagano spoke to the media

The Chicago Bears three coordinators spoke recently and had a lot more to add about the team then head coach Matt Nagy. That isn’t a shot at Nagy as much as the coordinators have a lot more in-depth conversation and eyes on their players. With that said, let’s get right into it. Defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano was quick to talk about competition at a lot of positions on the defensive side of the ball when asked about the quarterback competition.

I like that he didn’t completely answer the question as much about how he will help the quarterback competition, which tells us that he is focused on his side of the ball. If the Chicago Bears want to return to the 2018 NFL season defense, they need to have their leader get the team ready to execute his style of football now.

Chuck Pagano spoke on how he doesn’t have much to share with the media about how the players are looking since they are just getting started with training and COVID-19 shutting down the central part of this offseason.

The shutdown is a concern that all Chicago Bear fans should have, but at least every NFL team is equally going through this same process. Jaylon Johnson will have to battle his tail off to show that he deserves to be in the starting lineup. Pagano mentioned how the team is deep at cornerback in his eyes. He listed Kevin Toliver II first, which tells me that he has the first chance up at the position opposite of Kyle Fuller.
