Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson is highly underrated
Allen Robinson is underrated. This is an understatement in itself. Even I undervalued how good Robinson could have been for this team when the Bears first signed him. I was worried he was more of a one-year wonder than actually as talented as he has been since fully recovering from his torn ACL.
Enter the 2020 season and Robinson should be viewed as a top-10 wide receiver in the NFL. From a fantasy football perspective, Robinson found himself eighth overall in points. This was during a season when the Chicago Bears not only struggled to move the ball up and down the field consistently, but also lacked touchdowns.
Despite the negative, Robinson found himself catching two passes short of 100 and gained 1,147 yards. He was the first Bears receiver to gain over 1,000 yards in five years. The last to do so was Alshon Jeffrey in 2015.
Robinson scored seven touchdowns last year. This was the second-highest touchdown total of Robinson’s career. Should the Bears offense start to hit on all cylinders this season, Robinson’s touchdown total could once again hit double-digits. He is Mitchell Trubisky’s security blanket, but should he become Nick Foles’ favorite target too? Whoever is playing quarterback, Robinson should snag 100-plus balls and gain over 1,100 yards.
These three are clearly undervalued in regards to the 2020 NFL season. Hopefully, all three put up some numbers to put the negative perspectives at bay and remind everyone of their true values. There could be a few other names on this list like David Montgomery or Roquan Smith for example. I am hopeful for a strong Chicago Bears season and stats galore for many players.
