Where does the Chicago Bears cornerback room stack up against the rest of the NFC North?

We have made it to the secondary in our position by position preview. This series has ranked the Chicago Bears roster compared to the rest of the NFC North heading into the 2020 NFL season. Where do the cornerbacks stand?

4. Minnesota Vikings

Mike Hughes, Jeff Gladney, Holton Hill, Cam Dantzler, Harrison Hand

The Minnesota Vikings are starting two first-rounders but they cannot get above number four in the rankings. That is a testament to what this division is working with. It is also is a statement about where Hughes and Gladney are. Sure, both are first-round picks. What are they in the NFL, though?

Hughes has been banged up and has been backing up most of last year. Now is his moment to get a shot. Gladney will be a rookie. Both have upside, both are very incomplete.

Beyond that, there is legitimate competition in the slot. Hand and Dantzler are rookies as well, though. Hill has shown well at times. He also was a UDFA due to maturity issues and that has shown at times as well, including a suspension.

Overall, this group has a lot of upside, but has proven nothing on the field.
