Abdullah Anderson is likely not making the Chicago Bears final roster

The Chicago Bears kept six defensive linemen last season. This was a combination of both defensive ends and nose tackles. Abdullah Anderson barely made the team last season and he is not likely to make it this year. It is possible losing Eddie Goldman this year could be the break he needs, but I am leaning towards no.

Akiem Hicks, Bilal Nichols and Roy Robertson-Harris are the three easiest locks. John Jenkins will be the main big man in the middle of the defensive line since Goldman is not available. This already leaves the team with four defensive linemen.

If the Chicago Bears need to choose between Brent Urban and Anderson, Urban is the easy choice. He has shown more success than Anderson in plenty of ways. In nine games last season, Urban came away with 16 total tackles (10 solos) and a tackle-for-loss. Anderson played in six games and saw only four total tackles (3 solos). He did however have one sack.

You might be counting in your head and realized that I only listed five defensive linemen. Well, that is because I believe the last spot will wind up going to one of the Bears 2020 undrafted free agents. This includes Khalil Mack’s younger brother Ledarius Mack, LaCale London or Lee Autry.
