Chicago Bears: Mitchell Trubisky among quarterbacks with most to prove
Mitchell Trubisky must prove to the NFL he should start for the Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears have a quarterback competition brewing at Halas Hall. This competition was manufactured and did not come naturally. This is because it seems head coach Matt Nagy does not have enough trust in his younger quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.
To help, Nagy and Ryan Pace brought in Nick Foles to compete for the starting position. I have been of the belief that it makes the most sense for Trubisky to start the season in order to determine if he should be given an extension in 2021 or not. I also believe his success is what is best for the franchise.
That said, I am losing hope that Trubisky finds his way into the starting position against the Lions in Week 1. I know it was only one press conference, but I could not help to hear the affection that Nagy seems to have for Foles. Whenever Nagy was asked about Foles, you could see that Nagy was giddy about having him on the roster like a child opening up a present on Christmas morning. However, like a present, you do not know what is inside and sometimes may be disappointed.
While listening to the NFL channel on Sirius XM radio this weekend, the hosts were discussing the Chicago Bears quarterback situation and discussing which quarterbacks in the NFL have the most to prove in 2020. Mitchell Trubisky finds himself among those quarterbacks who need to come out swinging this season, but who else is on the list?
