Chicago Bears: Five keys to a playoff run in 2020
Jimmy Graham must show Chicago Bears fans he is not washed up
Most fans believe that the Chicago Bears new tight end is washed. They watched him play in the Green Bay Packers offense last year and saw him struggle. The thing is, the offensive system in Green Bay and Chicago are vastly different. Jimmy Graham will be featured more here in Nagy’s offense than he was in Green Bay.
Graham needs to take advantage of that and prove he is worth the contract that Ryan Pace gave him this offseason. Most fans wanted Austin Hooper to be the guy brought in. Others mentioned Eric Ebron. The thing is, Graham was not a poor decision. He is a big upgrade over what they had last season in Trey Burton and company.
The team will not make the playoffs though if the tight end group repeats its 2019 performance. Graham and rookie Cole Kmet are an upgrade, but will it be enough? The offense needs both tight ends to make a difference as both Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles have shown they like to lean on their tight ends. If Graham can gain 600-plus yards and score 5 or more touchdowns, the Chicago Bears should be playoff-bound.
