Eddy Pineiro cannot let Chicago Bears fans down

Last year was a strange time for Eddy Pineiro. He went through a circus of an audition to win the starting job last year. That followed with a roller coaster of emotions as he made a game-winning kick against the Broncos, but failed to do the same against the Chargers a few weeks later.

After watching Cody Parkey hit upright after upright, including his double-doink, just one year before, watching Pineiro was nerve-wracking. Nothing against Pineiro, but every time you watched him kick you basically assumed the worst. You assumed he would struggle. You assumed he would miss. This is normal instincts after what Bears fans went through the year before.

Pineiro was far from perfect last year. He made some horrible-timed mistakes. That said, he finished the year strong and now has a full season under his belt. He was also playing somewhat hurt during the year. He made 23 of his 28 attempted field goals. He was perfect from 50-plus but struggled between 40 and 49 yards out. This cannot continue to happen if the Chicago Bears want to make the playoffs this season.
