Which players on the Chicago Bears have had the best first week of training camp?

This has been one of the weirdest training camp periods to date. Given all of the new protocols and changes, we have not had nearly as many updates as we have had in years past. Still, any time we see Chicago Bears news, it has been worth taking note, maybe this year more than ever.

So, when Eddy Pineiro goes multiple days without kicking, he has to go down as a potential stock down player from camp. Who has had glowing reports out of training camp with potential for a big year?

I know, we probably did this same song and dance last year around this time. Heck, Matt Nagy did deliver by using Patterson in a few different ways. Remember in Week One, when he ran him into a pile on third and short?

Ok, jokes aside, after a year of finding out what makes Patterson tick, the Bears have entered the second year with him more open-minded to his ability as a running back. Last year, he was a receiver who lined up in the backfield and made it obvious what was happening.

This year, he is a running back who just so happens to wear a wide receiver number. When you look at the Chicago Bears depth at running back, you have to raise the stock of Patterson. He is going to step right into the role behind David Montgomery and Tarik Cohen as the third runner. Heck, he has the size of Montgomery and the agility of Cohen.

The commitment to being a running back opens up room in the receiving depth chart, but also helps provide depth to the running back room. There is reason to believe that he will be used better in 2020 than in 2019.
