3. Cole Kmet

There has to be a calming to every big report that comes out for Cole Kmet. Tight end is one of the tougher positions for a rookie to adjust to the NFL. Still, when the word out of camp is that he is ahead of schedule, you can at least project him to be closer to the high end of recent tight end rookie seasons.

Of course, Kmet will be behind Jimmy Graham, but even Graham has been impressed with how far ahead of the game Kmet is so far. The biggest praise has come from his understanding of the playbook, and techniques.

Coming in with the knowledge to be ahead of the game is huge, because he also came in as one of the younger players in the draft. The Bears do not have to rush his development as he grows into his body, but they can trust that situationally he can find success.

Adam Shaheen has had one of the worst rookie seasons by a top 50 pick at tight end in the past decade. At the very least, Kmet is going to shatter the bad perception that is surrounding the Bears and tight ends with his rookie season play.
