Another possibility on the defensive line for the Chicago Bears could be going with a younger, up and coming defensive end. Robbie Smith is only 22 years old. He only had four starts for the Toronto Argonauts, but he came away with four sacks too. Smith saw time in the defensive rotation and played in 14 of 18 games.

Smith is purely a potential guy for the Chicago Bears to consider. He was a talented prospect and the Argonauts were lucky enough to land him. He has shown enough flashes and promise as a rookie to be considered for a tryout. At only 22 years of age, Smith has the ability to be groomed and turned into something great.

Now, I am not saying I expect Smith to make the final roster. However, I do think even a guy like Smith has more upside than Abdullah Anderson. Matt Nagy made it known that the team is bringing in some insurance policies. This is why Cairo Santos was signed. Apparently Eddy Pineiro is dealing with a groin injury. Bringing Smith in could just be another insurance policy for later.
