Chicago Bears: 5 players from the CFL who deserve tryouts

Kyle Saxelid, OL
How about the Chicago Bears looking at the offensive side of the ball too? With reports that Jason Spriggs is dealing with a knee injury, the team should be once again thinking about an insurance policy. Rather than dig into the NFL free agency, Ryan Pace should consider Kyle Saxelid.
What makes Saxelid an intriguing prospect is that he is only 25 years old. He stands 6’7″ and 290 pounds. He played college ball at UNLV but did not make it into the NFL. Maybe now is his chance? Saxelid started five games last year for the Edmonton Eskimos. He saw time at both guard and tackle, including two starts at left tackle in the playoffs.
The Bears need depth at offensive line. Right now they are counting on a few seventh-round draft picks, but why not take a chance at a slightly more proven prospect? He also brings versatility to the table after playing both as an interior lineman and outside lineman. He would not supplant anyone on the current roster but could push for a practice squad spot.
