1. Roquan Smith
Roquan Smith is a bright spot in the company of three Chicago Bears draft busts. In his two years on this team, he has established himself as an important part of one of the best defenses in the league. He’s an irreplaceable part of this Chuck Pagano-led unit.
Through two seasons, the young linebacker has accumulated 222 tackles, 7 pass deflections, and 7 sacks, doing what he has been asked to do and more. If every single draft pick was a Roquan Smith, the world would be a beautiful place. Unfortunately, it’s not, and that’s why I had to make this list.
Smith hit a small hurdle last season in a year that many considered to be average. I don’t think this is any cause for concern, especially considered the coaching changes and extra workload that was put on his back. He suffered from a torn pectoral late in the season but missed minimal time. Bears fans will be hoping that injuries don’t become an issue for another early draft pick.
Roquan will look to build on a strong foundation that he has set in his first two years in Chicago. He should be a fun player to watch on a strong defense for years to come.
