Chicago Bears: 3 Free agents still available the Bears should consider
By Joseph Herff
Damon Harrison, Defensive Tackle
The defensive line took a major hit when stud nose tackle Eddie Goldman opted out. He was very underrated for this Bears defensive line over the past two seasons and is one of the best nose tackles in the game.
Harrison was a stud on the defensive line causing havoc for years. He had a down season in Detroit last season and has contemplated retirement, but he could be of great use for the Bears.
Currently, Bilal Nichols has moved to nose tackle and Roy Robertson-Harris is the other starting defensive linemen opposite of Akiem Hicks. After those three, there isn’t a lot of depth behind them. The Bears could use Harrison’s veteran presence to help this defensive front and give Robertson-Harris and Nichols some breaks.
Signing Harrison wouldn’t be cheap, but it wouldn’t be expensive either. Signing him would really help fill the void of Goldman’s opt-out.
