The Chicago Bears running game is a big question mark

The next question to Matt Nagy was an interesting one. The media asked about Ryan Nalls confidence to have a role with the team moving forward. Earlier this offseason, Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy shared how they were confident in the running back room before the draft. I still mocked the Bears to draft a running back if Jonathan Taylor or D’Andre Swift were available. Neither was and now David Montgomery is banged up.

Leonard Fournette is still available as I write this, but it seems like the Bears are not interested.  (Editors Note: Fournette signed a one-year deal with the Bucs for $3.5 million) One would think that Nall would receive high praise about playing early and often, but that wasn’t the case.

Nagy shared how he had a lot of trust in Nall but mentioned how he’s a solid special teams player and how Coach Tabor really likes him. So who is running the ball? If the Chicago Bears really like where they are in the running back room, what is the plan?

When Nall was asked about the running back room, Nall mentioned  Cordarrelle Patterson, David Montgomery, Tarik Cohen, and himself in that order. I am not suggesting that Patterson will be the main guy to start this season off, but what is the plan?

Nall mentioned that he could do many different things like running, fullback, and catching the ball if needed. I am not sure where the confidence is coming from in that running back room. I do think Matt Nagy Plans to deploy a heavy passing attack all year.
