Chicago Bears: Fans arguing over the starting QB is asinine
The Chicago Bears fan base should want more.
The Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy will decide with his coaching staff to start week one against the Detriot Lions. What is crazy is how many people are arguing over who should start and why. Sure, I have put out my opinions and have likely shown favoritism for Trubisky over Foles because one is 26 years old, and the other is 31. What I can’t get on board with is this:
What if I told you that entering Year 4 of his career, Mitch Trubisky would struggle to decisively beat out Nick Foles for the Bears' starting QB job?

Well...#Bears should let Foles be the bridge QB he was acquired to be.
A Chicago Bears writer, who is completely entitled to his opinion, feels that Nick Foles should have the job because he was brought in to be a bridge quarterback for the next attempt at the NFL’s most important position. And many twitter fans agree. What is the point in thinking about a bridge quarterback? When was the last time a bridge quarterback went on to win the Superbowl? Not a backup quarterback but a bridge quarterback.
If Nick Foles is brought in to start, I sure am not hoping that he can hold the fort down and stay competitive for the next quarterback to be drafted. By the time that young quarterback will be ready to lead this Chicago Bears team, Khalil Mack will be 31. There is no time left. It is time to put all faith in one of these quarterbacks to be good enough to lead this team to the promised land.
Drafting Justin Fields, Trey Lance, or Jamies Neman, who isn’t playing this upcoming season in college, won’t win the Chicago Bears a Super Bowl in 2021. Did Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson, or Patrick Mahomes win year one? A bridge quarterback mentality isn’t the answer.
If you are ok with Nick Foles as the answer and immediate quarterback for the next four to five years then, so be it. The same goes for Mitch Trubisky. The future is now; tomorrow isn’t promised. The Chicago Bears need to give the job to the quarterback they feel will give them their best chance at winning with how the team is constructed.

Wanting anything less than that is asinine. If you are a fan who wants to blow it up and start over, so be it. That is perfectly fine. That is a much better opinion then wanting the mediocrity of a bridge quarterback.
