Not shocking but worth mentioning regarding the Chicago Bears depth chart

This will just be a quick look at things we expected and differences that came about regarding the first depth chart compared to our prediction.

David Montgomery is listed as RB1

David Montgomery is listed as the RB1 one on the depth chart. Does this mean he is cleared to go versus the Lions? Not necessarily. Remember, the team will not have to disclose injury status until Wednesday of this week. This means that Matt Nagy is hopeful or wants the Lions to plan for Montgomery. Either way, both are good for the Bears.

Germain Ifedi locks in at RG

This was expected and we could see the writing on the wall here. Rashaad Coward is the backup to both Ifedi and Bobby Massie according to the depth chart. Alex Bars is slotted in behind James Daniels as the left guard and Jason Spriggs looks to be the second tackle option slotted behind Charles Leno. Will Spriggs be healthy enough though? We mention Jamon Brown as a potential replacement if Spriggs cannot go. He adds experience as he’s appeared in 60 games.

Bilal Nichols will start at NT while Roy Robertson-Harris starts at defensive end

Another not surprising situation as this played out in training camp. This is exciting though because Bilal Nichols and Akiem Hicks looked to be wreaking havoc on the Chicago Bears line during camp.
