The few surprising players who survived the Chicago Bears final roster cuts
The season is officially upon us and that means the Chicago Bears had to cut down their roster to 53 players. Every team in the league had to waive players hoping they could keep them on their practice squad or hoping they could snag other players on waivers.
While this 53-man roster right now is essentially meaningless, the Bears still made some tough calls. There will be plenty of changes to the roster throughout the season and some could even be made this week. Even after announcing their roster, the Bears went out and signed defensive end Mario Edwards. They haven’t made a corresponding move yet to make this official.
Some of these players that made the team were a bit of a shock to fans. They may have carved themselves a specific role on special teams that is almost irreplaceable (Like Sherrick McManis), but that still shocks a lot of people.
