Ryan Nall, Running Back

Ryan Nall hasn’t seen the field much in the NFL, but he may have his shot this year. After Mike Davis got cut last season, Nall got pulled up to the active roster and only ran the ball twice. Nall has gotten a lot of carries in the preseasons he’s been here, but that isn’t the same.

This is a surprise because the Bears recently added Nall’s former college teammate Artavis Pierce who many, including myself, we’re very high on and thought could usurp Nall from making the 53-man roster. Pierce instead went to the practice squad likely because of no preseason.

The other part of this is that the Bears must really trust in Nall. They could go after many free-agent running backs like Spencer Ware, Devonta Freeman, or DeAndre Washington. They instead are sticking by Nall.

Nall has shown he’s a great special teamer and that may be the reason he got the spot on the roster. He may need to carry the ball too if David Montgomery misses time this season with his current injury.
