Chicago Bears: 3 most surprising players to make the roster
By Joseph Herff
Javon Wims, Wide Receiver
The talk of the offseason was the almost consensus nod that Javon Wims would get cut in order to keep wide receiver, Cordarrelle Patterson. The Bears fixed that quickly by converting Patterson into a running back.
The 25-year-old big target snuck into the roster as the sixth wideout on the roster. The former seventh-round pick has shown a lot of promise with his ability to high-point balls and win balls in the air with his size and strength.
Wims has the opportunity now to prove his worth to the Bears. He may not see the field much unless there is an injury, but he is expected to be the immediate backup to star wide receiver Allen Robinson as the big, possession wide receiver.
