Mitchell Trubisky, Quarterback

The talk of the offseason has been the quarterback battle in Chicago. After trading away a fourth-round pick for Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles, Nagy made it clear there would be a competition for the starting job. There wasn’t much time for the battle, but they still had it.

Mitchell Trubisky won the job with improved footwork, decision-making, and accuracy. All eyes are on him and he should be on a short leash now that they have Foles and Trubisky is in a contract year. He needs to step up his game in order to keep his job.

Against Matt Patricia’s Lions, Trubisky has won all three games. He completed 74.7% of his passes throwing for 866 yards, nine touchdowns, and only one interception in those games. He has a 132.4 passer rating against the Lions. Basically, Trubisky has to have a great game in order to reinforce he’s the man for the job.

It’s not just this game, but every game from here on out that all eyes will be watching Trubisky like a hawk. Every throw, movement, and even glance will be dissected.
