Germain Ifedi, Right Guard

The Bears offensive line last year was downright horrible, to say the least. They were bottom three in run blocking and were a bottom-tier offensive line in general. A large part of that struggle was the loss of veteran and captain Kyle Long to a season-ending injury which led to former defensive tackle Rashaad Coward playing at right guard. Coward showed some promise, but he made way too many mistakes.

After last season, the Bears brought in former first-round pick offensive tackle Germain Ifedi. He played guard his rookie year but got moved to back to tackle the remaining seasons in Seattle. He struggled greatly at tackle accumulating too many penalties during that span.

As a rookie, he impressed greatly at guard. They just needed him at tackle due to injuries and other issues. Now, he is back at guard for the Bears and the eyes should be on him along with the rest of the line under offensive line coach Juan Castillo to see if they truly improved. If not, this team could be in trouble.
