Jaylon Johnson, Cornerback

The Bears took Jaylon Johnson in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft right after taking Cole Kmet as well. Many were skeptical of this pick as Bears fans as we already had Kevin Toliver, Tre Roberson, and Artie Burns competing for that job.

Fast forward to months later. Kevin Toliver is now on the Denver Broncos practice squad, Tre Roberson is out for the season along with Artie Burns. Now, Johnson is the starter at corner.

The rookie will be tasked with guarding either Kenny Golladay or Marvin Jones Jr. Both of these receivers will be a tall task for Johnson, but eyes will be on him to see if he can stand up to the challenge. Even if he struggles all game, that’s fine because he’s only a rookie going against an elite wide receiver or a veteran.

Regardless, fans will be expecting him to show out immediately, although they shouldn’t.
