Allen Robinson vs. Desmond Trufant
It may seem obvious to flip to the other side of the ball for the next matchup, but that’s as simple as things are in this storied rivalry. Allen Robinson has proven to be a bright spot on an offense that doesn’t have much to speak of at this point. Put him on any roster and he’ll shine, so for the Detroit Lions, he’ll be priority number one defensively.
This matchup will be hard to miss, as Robinson was targeted 21 times and accumulated 174 yards and a touchdown catch in last year’s games against the Lions. Having said that, this will be an entirely different story with the recent departure of Darius Slay from Detroit.
Instead of Slay, Robinson will be lining up against Desmond Trufant. The two have only come face-to-face once in the past when Robinson was only targeted 5 times but racked up 57 yards and a touchdown reception.
This year, the Bears will look to rejuvenate their offense and their star receiver will be the starting point. If Robinson takes control of this matchup, the Chicago Bears will likely be walking down victory lane tomorrow afternoon.
