Let the Allen Robinson bidding war begin

With the rumors circulating about Allen Robinson, a bidding war could essentially ensue. What if the Chicago Bears could guarantee a first-round pick for Allen Robinson opposed to maybe getting one from the Patriots or the 49ers? The Miami Dolphins could be in play here for two reasons. One, it could put a stop to the Patriots trying to bring in Robinson. Two, the team has plenty of draft capital for 2021 and could use a top wideout.

Davante Parker has shown promise finally but is now dealing with an injury. Either way, Allen Robinson is a better wide receiver than Parker anyway. Adding Robinson to the mix would be a great receiving duo for Tua Tagovailoa to start with later this season or in 2021.

Having their starting quarterback of the future on a rookie deal allows more wiggle room for the Dolphins to sign guys like Allen Robinson to a long-term deal. Robinson again is only 27 years old. Signing him to a three or four year deal would be a strong move to help ensure Tagovailoa has weapons to grow with over the next few seasons.

Right now, the Dolphins have two first-round picks and two second-round picks. In fact, they have a total of 10 draft picks for 2021. The team should send one of its two first-round picks to the Chicago Bears for Allen Robinson and win any bidding war that could develop. The deal would be that the Bears receive whichever of the two first-round picks (Miami owns their own and Houston’s) winds up being later in the draft.

Some might think this is a steep price to pay, but I again turn your attention to the Stefon Diggs trade this offseason.
