Chicago Bears NFL ranking – 22nd

Maybe an even more egregious power rankings list comes from NFL.com. The NFL site had the Bears ranked 24th going into the season and moved them up two spots into 22nd after Week 1. The NFL site moved the Bears up two spots just like ESPN did after their win over the Lions. The writer makes a comment that the D’Andre Swift dropped winning touchdown was not taken into account and admits the Bears winning required guts, but yet the team still seems to be punished.

The fact that the Washington Football Team is ranked 23rd says it all. The Eagles looked bad in Week 1. The offense was flat and the defense fell short allowing 13 points to Washington in the fourth quarter. The fact Washington moved up eight spots and is only one behind the Bears is just wrong to me.

Just like ESPN, NFL.com has the Eagles (17) and Vikings (16) too high for my liking. I also find it crazy they moved the Texans up one spot despite looking awful against the Chiefs on Thursday night. I understand the Chiefs are viewed as the top team, but Deshaun Watson and company looked worse on offense than the Chicago Bears this past week. The best indicator of how bad these rankings are is seeing the Bucs remain at 13 despite Tom Brady looking washed.
