Chicago Bears vs Giants: 5 must-watch players in Week 2
By Joseph Herff
Danny Trevathan must step up in Week 2 for the Chicago Bears
Sunday was arguably one of the worst games of Danny Trevathan‘s career. It sucked to see that given the extension the Bears gave him this offseason. The Bears let younger inside linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski walk instead of Trevathan this offseason.
Trevathan looked okay on the stat sheet as he finished with seven tackles, but he got blown out of the water in coverage. He really struggled covering virtually everyone especially T.J. Hockenson on his first touchdown of the season.
Trevathan can play better and we hope as fans this isn’t the beginning of the decline for him as a player. He’s a great leader in the locker room who has been underrated by many fans and NFL analysts alike.
This game will be his chance to rebound what we normally see in terms of our inside linebacker duo. The duo of Trevathan and Roquan Smith can terrorize running backs and tight ends all season if we get the Trevathan we are used to seeing.
