Darnell Mooney, Wide Receiver

After seeing the second-most snaps at wide receiver this past weekend, rookie fifth-round pick Darnell Mooney has impressed thus far. He registered his first NFL touchdown this past weekend on a great play and connection with Mitchell Trubisky. He finished with three receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown.

With this matchup against the Falcons, this could turn into a high-scoring game. The explosiveness and speed of Mooney could turn to be a game-changer against this banged-up defense.

Ted Ginn has also seemed to lose his place with the team as he was ruled inactive for the Giants game giving Mooney the chance to shine. Ginn wasn’t injured, it was just a healthy scratch. Mooney was fifth in snaps week one and still caught three passes for 38 yards. He then jumped to second passing both Anthony Miller and Javon Wims. The more he develops chemistry with Trubisky, the better he will do.
