Nick Foles is the Bears’ savior

When Trubisky was struggling into the second half of the game against the Falcons, nobody expected a change. So most of us were pretty surprised to see Nick Foles strutting out onto the field after another failed drive for Chicago. It was a sad moment for Trubisky who, despite a lot of hate, has been Chicago’s quarterback for a while now.

The decision’s timing was weird too, and shouldn’t lack criticism. Foles was not expected to come back and win and Trubisky’s confidence was shot. It was the right move at the wrong time but still ended up paying off.

After a controversial interception on his first drive that was no fault of his own, Foles finished off the game with an eye-popping three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter alone. With no context, you’d think he was one of the best quarterbacks in the league from his short time in the game. But it was only two weeks ago that Mitchell Trubisky was engineering the same comeback.

So the question this has left us with is this: is Foles the Bears quarterback of the future or just a band-aid on a bad offense?
