If it wasn’t for that penalty by Edwards, Khalil Mack’s stat line would have looked a bit better. Although Mack’s strip-sack was wiped out, he did get credited for a half of a sack and five tackles. On the Bears’ first defensive series, Joel Iyiegbuniwe lost containment of Falcons tight end Hayden Hurst and allowed Atlanta’s first touchdown of the game.

The pressure from this unit did pick up though and you could tell it finally started to rattle Matt Ryan a little. Not sure this game ends with a victory had it not been for the consistent pressure up front, including Khalil Mack, Akiem Hicks, Robert Quinn and more. The defense was not great for most of the game, but some singular performances and late-game heroics certainly helped the Bears come away victorious.
