What if the Chicago Bears brought back Kerrith Whyte?

Remember how upset you were (alright, maybe not you personally, but many Bears fans were) when Kerrith Whyte was plucked from the Chicago Bears practice squad last year by the Pittsburgh Steelers? Well, he did not last long in Pittsburgh.

Whyte played in six games for the Steelers in 2019 and was somewhat productive at times. That said, he was not lighting up the stat sheets either. In six games, Whyte carried the ball 24 times for 122 yards. That actually comes out to 5.1 pards per attempt. Not bad actually.

Whyte was never able to showcase his receiving skills (or lack thereof) in Pittsburgh. He caught one ball on one target for nine yards. The thing is, there is obviously some familiarity already with Whyte and this Chicago Bears team. Remember, Ryan Pace was the one who drafted him in the first place. Clearly he (and likely Matt Nagy) liked what they saw from him.

Right now, Whyte is on the Detroit Lions practice squad. Why not throw a few bones their way (figuratively speaking because the Bears would not give up anything but cash to the player in the process) and steal Kerrith Whyte from the Lions squad? Bringing Whyte in might actually be my least favorite option of the three we are discussing.
