Did the switch at quarterback help or hurt the Chicago Bears power rankings?

It sure looks like the Mitch Trubisky era is over here in Chicago. The Chicago Bears made the switch from Trubisky to Nick Foles after one drive in the third quarter. Trubisky missed a deep touchdown pass to Anthony Miller before the end of the half and then threw an interception in the Bears territory before he was pulled.

To be honest, I was not happy with the decision, but looking back on it, Matt Nagy made the right call. I thought it was an overreaction as Trubisky was not the reason the team was losing so badly. The defense was not stopping the run at all. That said, the Bears kept settling for field goals and if you have ever heard Nagy speak, he hates field goals.

Nick Foles came in and made enough plays to lead a comeback similar to Trubisky’s Week 1 performance versus the Lions. I am still leary to become overly optimistic because Foles seems to always have these performances coming off the bench. The hope is with these coaches and this system Foles can flourish similarly to his 2013 season or even his Super Bowl run after coming in for a hurt Carson Wentz.

Let’s face it, power rankings mean very little, but we all like to look at them anyway. Each week we will take a look at where the Chicago Bears land on the ESPN, NFL and CBS power rankings. We will discuss if the spot seems fair or if the rankings seem a little off for some reason. With Foles now at the helm and the Bears 3-0, how did that affect the current rankings going into Week 4?

I have also decided to add Adam Hoge’s power rankings to the mix. This way we can get a more local perspective and honestly, I found his rankings for the Chicago Bears to be more accurate in prior weeks.
