The Chicago Bears must play a complete game this Sunday vs. Colts

The Bears are in an interesting place right now, tied for first with Green Bay at 3-0. However, the two teams look to be in totally different places. The Packers look like real contenders in the NFC while the Chicago Bears look like the worst 3-0 team ever.

The Bears have yet to put together a complete game against any team they have played thus far. Against the Lions, in week one they played one good quarter, week two they started the first half nicely but completely stalled in the second half. Finally week three in Atlanta they looked awful in the first half before making an epic comeback in the second.

The catalyst for this comeback against the Falcons was Matt Nagy finally pulling the plug on Mitch Trubisky in favor of Nick Foles. Once Foles came in the offense looked like a completely new unit, playing with confidence and moving the ball at will.

Nick Foles is going to be the starter week four against the Indianapolis Colts, and too many people he gives the Bears the best chance to win. The Colts will be a tough test matchup for these Chicago Bears.

A look at the Chicago Bears Week 4 opponent

The Colts are 2-1 on this season and have looked relatively solid in doing so. They have been playing pretty good defense, with Darius Leonard wreaking havoc all over the field. This Colts team is somewhat similar to the Bears in the sense that they have a good defense but still have some questions on offense.

Phillip Rivers has looked more like a game manager than anything else this year. Coming in at just below 800 yards with 3 touchdowns to 3 picks. While these numbers aren’t quite what Rivers is used to putting up, he does look better than he did last year with the Chargers.

This Chicago Bears defense I feel will play pretty well against the Colts. I think their biggest problem will be trying to slow down star rookie Jonathan Taylor who is off to a great start so far in his career.

The key for the Bears to win this game will fall on Nick Foles in my opinion. He seemed to inject some much-needed confidence in this offense once he came in last week. The Bears can’t afford to play one good quarter, or one good half because this Colts team is their toughest test to date, and can make them pay for poor performance.
