Chicago Bears: 3 Duds from Week 4 against the Colts
By Cody Young
While it isn’t all on his shoulders, David Montgomery needs to make more of an impact
Dud: David Montgomery
David Montgomery is a good running back in this league, and I think he has the potential to be a franchise type of back. However, he has way too many games like these where he does absolutely nothing.
As stated above not all of it falls on his shoulders, the Chicago Bears offensive line has to do a better job. They tricked us into thinking they were better with the first two games of the season but these last two games have kind of been the same old bears.
With the Bears playing from behind all game they seemed to abandon the run game early on. The second-year RB only received 10 total carries for 27 yards. His longest run was for six yards, not a good day at all.
He has shown flashes of being a legit running-back but he seems to struggle to do it at a consistent level. The Bears traded up to get David in last year’s draft which shows Chicago has high expectations for him. I wouldn’t give up on him yet by any means but his lack of consistent play can be a cause or concern.
