Rant on Matt Nagy part one billion

The Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace has gotten a lot of flake throughout his tenure ad the Bears leader. He deserves every bit of it. I have been one of the rare Ryan Pace supporters and will still support him until he is gone. I am not mad that he traded up for Trubisky in 2017.

I was during draft night, but over time I have come to understand how a person can fall for Trubisky, the person instead of the player. I thought I  understood the Leonard Floyd draft pick because, based on my scouting, I saw a player that was a perfect traditional outside linebacker.

Maybe my defense and top prospects’ vision is different from the rest, but I like run-stopping players that force the pass. I had high grades on Vita Vea the year the Chicago Bears drafted Roquan Smith. To me, if you stop the run and force the pass, that’s when pass rushers do their job.

There is no point in having elite pass rushers if you can’t get offenses to passing situations. Getting back on track, Ryan Pace has failed to produce weapons in the draft. He has found gems on day three a lot. Unfortunately, just about every gem he has found was not retained. Jordan Howard, Nick Kwaitkoski, and Adrian Amos are some good examples.

What is the point in finding these guys if the general manager is not going to retain them? Those three should be Chicago Bears, but instead, they are struggling with other teams. The biggest disappointment is how Ryan Pace has not fixed the most important position on the team.

No, I am not talking about quarterback (although that sucks too). I am talking about the head coach position. Another awesome human being and a pretty good motivator who lacks a few things that are vital to the NFL. Matt Nagy is stubborn and an awful play-caller. I said this back in 2018, and I am repeating it.
