Close game but the Chicago Bears come away with the Win

The Chicago Bear fan need to stop arguing about who is better. At this point, it does not matter. The difference between Nick Foles and Mitch Trubisky showed up when the Bears drive stalled in the red zone after Foles wanted to run a hurry-up while he felt like he had the Buccaneers defense right where he wanted them.

That is experience and leadership. Most of us have spent our time watching how Nagy, over the years, has spent his time explaining things to Trubisky on the sideline. It was beyond a coaching moment to see Foles doing that to his head coach.

Hopefully, Nagy took it all in and will learn from it and learn to trust his experienced quarterback. Speaking of Matt Nagy, I told my BGO team during the game that I was impressed with how Nagy had called plays in the first half.

Not all of the plays worked out. Some missed throws and some questionable personnel took place. I don’t expect Nagy to bat .1000, but Nagy did call a much better game than the Colts game. Towards the end of the game and in critical situations, Matt Nagy seemed almost to want to sabotage his own game.

Every fan can tell you that you try your best to run out the clock before that, Nagy needed to put his foot on the gas and trust his quarterback. In the end, the Chicago Bears still won. The running game is awful. The offensive lineman did not get much push against this front, and David Montgomery did the best he could with the limited amount of holes he had.

Nagy did make up for that by using the talent the running back has as a receiver. That was the whole purpose of trading away Jordan Howard and trading up for Montgomery.
