Chicago Bears still have work to do despite a win over the Bucs
Chicago Bear rookies look promising
The last thing I want to talk about his proud I am of the young talent on the Chicago Bears roster. The Chicago Bears’ first draft pick was Cole Kmet but had that position not needed a future tight end to groom; it would have been Jaylon Johnson.
First, on Kmet, don’t worry about him too much. A lot of fans are starting to wonder where the rookie tight end has been. Again, worry about Matt Nagy. Kmet can’t get on the field if they don’t use the packages he is not in. Did we expect Kment to be the starting “Y” tight end? Yes, we did.
Maybe we should have covered more on Demetrius Harris. We all knew he would make the team but expected him to be the third man in the rotation. Jimmy Graham has been on the field for 236 snaps. Harris has 147, and Kmet has 104 snaps so far this season. J.P. Holtz has a whopping 24. Just remember, Kmet is a “Y” tight end groomed for the future. There is no rush in his production.
Fans should stay excited about Jaylon Johnson and Darnell Mooney. Those two have shown what their floor is and keep raising what their ceiling can become. Plus, maybe it was just me, but did anybody notice who came in for Kyle Fuller when he was hurt?
Kindle Vildor came in for one play while Kyle Fuller got medical attention. It looks like Duke Shelley is the slot replacement, while Vildor will be the boundary replacement as needed. During his one play, he looked eager and ready to go. This is a good sign for the 2020 Chicago Bears draft class. The rookies don’t need to be stars right away, but they need to make sure they are ready to attack when their name is called.
