Here are some players the Chicago Bears could use to replace James Daniels
After the Thursday night win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Chicago Bears feared that starting left guard James Daniels tore his pectoral muscle during the game. Those fears became true when an MRI confirmed that. This injury ends the season for Daniels who was off to a great 2020 season.
Only at 23 years old, Daniels has started 31 straight games for the Bears and has played in every single game for the Bears since being drafted in the second round out of Iowa.
Daniels suffered his injury early in the second half and was replaced by undrafted free agent Alex Bars. Bars struggled early on, but eventually found his footing and held his own against a powerful defensive line. He likely isn’t a confirmed starter as Rashaad Coward started 10 games last season at right guard, but it looks like he is the guy right now.
After switching from guard to center and back to guard, Daniels finally seemed to be evolving into the guard they drafted him to be: a mauling guard who can hold his own in pass protection. He looked to be the Bears’ best lineman thus far.
Now, the Bears must look forward at least for this season. With the Bears now at 4-1 and a notable win under their belt, the Bears should look for players to replace Daniels. This line already was shaky against the Indianapolis Colts and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Here are some players that can replace Daniels.’
