Nick Foles can beat any other quarterback in the league

Nick Foles very clearly is not an NFL superstar. but even that sentence starts to make me question the very definition of the word superstar. While I may have it listed as an overreaction, part of me truly believes that Nick Foles can beat any other quarterback in the league.

This is a combination of two things. Firstly, Foles is backed up by a defense that has pushed the very definition of a bend-don’t-break defense. Chicago hasn’t produced the turnovers that some of their past teams have, but they’ve been doing all that they need to do for their new quarterback to succeed.

This leads me to my second point: Nick Foles shows up when he needs to and only when he needs to. It’s the weirdest thing; one second I’ll be begging for Trubisky to be put back into the game and 5 minutes later I’m thinking Nick Foles could win NFL MVP. No, he obviously won’t even sniff the award, but he steps up at the right time and puts thoughts like that into your head.

Again, he’s not a great NFL quarterback, but maybe that’s not what Chicago needs. I’ve always been against the whole idea of getting a quarterback who does just enough but depending on how this season goes, I might actually switch to the other side of that argument. Nick Foles continues to rise to the occasion and has Chicago sitting at 5-1.
