The Chicago Bears are the best team in the NFC North

For the third straight slide, my overreaction might not be just an overreaction. After the aforementioned loss that the Green Bay Packers suffered against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago finds itself at a tie atop the NFC North. It doesn’t seem so crazy now, but a few weeks ago, we didn’t know if this team would be able to compete against even mid-level opponents.

Lots of eyes have turned to this defense, but the Nick Foles-led offense has been holding it’s own.  Even though there have been some plays that make you wonder how he’s getting paid to play football, he has been doing enough to get this team a dub each week.

Another point of clarification that we reached in Week 6 is that this division isn’t necessarily a 1-team show. Chicago won, Detroit won, and Green Bay lost. For the sake of making the NFC North look good, I won’t mention the Vikings or Kirk Cousins beyond this sentence.

On a serious note though, Detroit looked really good, making the Bears’ win look like more than poor coaching on the Lions end. The Packers looked really bad, which will give Bears fans hope that they could actually win the division instead of simply being a team that gave Aaron Rodgers a little bit of trouble.

We won’t face them until late November, but until then, this is anybody’s division. Chicago could not have found themselves in a better position and will look to collect more Ws leading up to this matchup.
