Chicago Bears: 4 Best moves Ryan Pace made this offseason
By Joseph Herff
Jaylon Johnson, Cornerback
Although the rookie cornerback struggled this past week against the Carolina Panthers, that one bad game should not discredit his incredible games beforehand.
Even including the Panthers game, Jaylon Johnson has only allowed a 44.7 completion percentage while targeted. Quarterbacks only have a passer rating of 76.2 while targeting the young corner. He and Fuller have been two of the best lockdown cornerbacks this season already.
After Prince Amukamara looked solid in 2018, but in 2019 he got exposed too often leading to his cut. At this point, Johnson has played better than Amukamara ever did for the Bears and he is only a rookie that was taken in the second round. Johnson has made a case to currently be the best cornerback in his draft class already and the Bears got him for a steal. This was a great selection in the 2020 NFL draft that filled a big need immediately.
