Chicago Bears: Teams that should have interest in a Mitch Trubisky trade
With the loss of Dak Prescott, the Cowboys could use Mitch Trubisky
The team that could use Mitch Trubisky the most this season (and maybe beyond) is the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys were atop the NFC East heading into Week 7 with a 2-4 record. With the Eagles victory over the Giants last night, the Cowboys will need a win against the Washington Football Team on Sunday to remain in the top spot. With a loss, the Eagles will take over the leading spot in the NFC East.
The NFC East might be the worst division in football. With the loss of Dak Prescott to a season-ending ankle injury, the team has turned to Andy Dalton. If the first game is any indicator, the Cowboys could be looking for another quarterback very soon.
In his first start for the Cowboys, Dalton threw for 266 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. We all know that Jerry Jones is not shy about making moves for his team. Would he be willing to call Ryan Pace and offer a draft pick to bring in Mitch Trubisky? No matter what the future plans are for Prescott, Trubisky could be brought in this season should Dalton falter again this Sunday. Then Jones could look to try and keep one of Trubisky or Dalton as a backup in 2021.
Maybe the Cowboys have a backup offensive lineman that could help the Bears instead? That would make many Chicago Bears fans happy. In all honestly, as I already mentioned, I do not see the Bears moving on from Trubisky because if Nick Foles were to get injured, they’d have to rely on Tyler Bray — no thanks. A trade for Trubisky would need to include a third-round pick or better if I were Pace, but it is possible that Pace may take less than that.
What would you want in a Trubisky trade? Would you take the risk and move on from him at the trade deadline knowing how injury-prone Foles has been throughout his career? Let us know on social media or in the comments.
